Published work 

Holloway's work appears in the books, Portraits 9/11/01: The Collected “Portraits of Grief’’ From The New York Times (Times Books/Henry Holt and Co., 2002); 36 Days: The Complete Chronicle of the 2000 Presidential Election Crisis (Times Books/Henry Holt and Co., 2001). She has also written for Essence Magazine. 

Charity work 

Holloway sits on the board of directors of Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s HOPE Foundation, which provides prenatal HIV treatment to HIV-positive mothers throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. Holloway is also a former member of the board of directors of The Day School,  a school for impoverished students in grades K-12 who have been diagnosed with severe emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Education

Holloway graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in journalism. In college, she was a member of the women’s Division III track team. She was editor of the campus newspaper, The Mac Weekly. 

Personal

Holloway is single and lives in downtown Chicago. She is juggling two book projects, one her memoir and the other a sizzling hot murder mystery. She is training to run a marathon in the fall.
